I believe every person is made in the image of God and deserving of love, value, and care. In this life, in this world, brokenness and pain are part of the human experience; therefore, anyone at any time may need extra support to work through something difficult. Therapy offers a space to process those difficult emotions, events, life transitions, relationships, choices, or any struggle. Therapy also fosters personal growth, moments of peace and joy, and opportunities for reflection.

In my work, I adopt a strengths-based approach, collaborating with you in discovering the strengths you already have and helping you develop strengths, tools, and skills for the present and future. My sincerest hope is for you to recognize your intrinsic value and belovedness as a child of God. Together, we’ll work through your struggles, harnessing both evidence-based therapeutic techniques and the truth of your inherent worth. Just like the body, the mind is capable of healing, and I approach every session with that lens of hope.

  • During my educational experience, I worked as a substance use counselor with teens in the juvenile justice system, and later as a case manager/counselor for people living in subsidized housing. While obtaining my hours pre-licensure, I worked in middle schools and high schools counseling youth with a variety of mental health concerns and needs. After becoming licensed, I worked with youth and adults in outpatient substance use treatment. Most of my experience is with teens and adults, especially those with a history of depression, anxiety, substance use, and trauma. I have also provided trainings on suicide prevention in school and nonprofit staff/faculty

  • One of my favorite ways to use my gifts to serve God and others is through music: singing and playing guitar. I have served in a variety of ministry contexts including worship, youth, young adults, local outreach, and care/counseling. I have utilized my therapeutic experience in the context of the local church, supporting congregants through life’s many difficulties. I am also married to a pastor who has served in youth, family, leadership, and preaching capacities, and I enjoy serving in ministry both separately and together. Now, our most fulfilling and dynamic ministry is with the two little humans God has given us to raise.
